Tamburini produces fixed limit gauges, measuring systems and threading tools (taps, dies, thread mills) for several differnt materials, included for lead-free brass.
Starting from 1st January 2027, the European Union's Drinking Water Directive (DWD) will require the use of lead-free brass for taps and valves dedicated to the passage of drinking water.
This poses a major new challenge for companies working with these new materials, which are much more onerous than the standard materials currently in use.
Dedicated tools are needed and Tamburini proposes various solutions for the threading of these new materials, such as:

âš« Anti-wear surface coatings
âš« Harder, higher-performance materials (HSS with more cobalt, hard metal)
